In compliance of Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009 establishing a Community Code on Visas (Visa Code) all Schengen Member States are required to mandatorily capture Biometric data as part of the Visa Application Process.

Therefore the Embassy of Spain in Algiers and its Consulate in Oran are pleased to announce the introduction of a secure Biometric System operated by VFS at its Spain Visa Application Centers in both Algiers and Oran.

Effective, 11th October, 2011, all categories of Visa Applicants will mandatorily be required to appear in person at the Spain Visa Application Centers and provide 10 flat finger prints and a facial image as part of the visa application process. The implementation of this system will bring significant security enhancement and improvement in identity management and issuance of visas.
